SIMOCO WIRELESS SOLUTIONS’ PORTFOLIO OF SERVICES LOOK AFTER EVERY ASPECT OF YOUR COMMUNICATIONS NETWORKS
DESIGN SYSTEMS & INTEGRATION
Once you have chosen and designed a new communications infrastructure for your organisation, you might expect the integration to be the easy part. But there are numerous challenges to be overcome.
Organisations need to ensure that all aspects of your technology integrate seamlessly with legacy systems, so that no reliability is sacrificed, no data is lost and no previous investments are wasted. You need to enable different hardware and software from different vendors to work together, without locking you into particular providers for decades to come. And depending on the nature of your organisation, you may need to work with complex or even hostile environments, from confined spaces to old buildings and even underground locations.
SIMOCO Wireless Solutions has an unparalleled history in responding to all of these challenges. Our approach to systems integration considers your legacy technologies and systems, the suppliers you are working with – and may work with in the future – and the physical environment in which you operate.
Confined spaces including, tunnels, mines, station platforms or other subterranean areas with unique propagation characteristics require specialist knowledge, and our experience in this field includes the provision of radio coverage for any or all of the following: PMR, Trunked PMR, Tetra, GSM/PCN, paging (Public or Private), Public Broadcast and Emergency/Security Services.
INSTALLATION & COMMISSIONING
Understanding your communications requirements is one thing. Predicting what they might be in the future is another. And interpreting those requirements into the reality of a working communications system is different again.
SIMOCO Wireless Solutions has the practical experience and knowledge necessary to supply, install, commission and support unified communications systems from the ground up. Our engineers are experts at working across multiple sectors and geographies and in highly complex environments, including mines, construction sites, historic buildings and remote rural locations.
Worldwide, the systems and networks we have installed span technologies and protocols including PMR, TETRA, Microwave Line of Sight, Trunked PMR, Multiplex & Network Management, Rural Telephony, GSM, Telephone Switches, PCN, 3G, 4G and LTE, message switches and paging.
MANAGED SERVICES
Managed services takes an end-to-end approach to voice communications, telematics and unified communications. From initial consultancy through system design and integration to ongoing monitoring and maintenance, Simoco Wireless Solutions manages communication networks for a range of international airports, including Heathrow. We operate 15,000 devices for 170 customers across 18 UK airports in total, providing mission critical communications infrastructure that helps keep populations mobile. SIMOCO Wireless Solutions also maintains communication infrastructure for Transport for London. We provide 24/7 support for a network covering London’s busiest road tunnels, helping to ensure 250,000 vehicles pass through safely each day.
We begin with a consultancy phase that considers the technologies, user groups and communication channels you already have in place – and the ones you will need in the future. From there, we design a communications infrastructure that will be the perfect fit today – and tomorrow.
Next, we handle all aspects of the installation of your new hardware and software, ensuring that everything is perfectly integrated with your existing technology.
Finally, with your communications network up and running, we offer bespoke packages of ongoing maintenance and support. Our communications networks are set up for streamlined maintenance, with identification and isolation of problems, routine maintenance and upgrades and even repair work able to take place remotely. Whether you want our expert engineers monitoring your communications networks 24/7, or want a more hands-off approach, we tailor our levels of managed service to fit.
The flexible nature of our approach to managed services means that you can pick and choose the elements that your organisation needs. Whether you have a communications architecture in place that you’re happy with and simply need experts to keep it running smoothly, whether you want to strip back your existing architecture and start again – or something in between – Simoco Wireless Solutions delivers innovation, reliability and absolute trust.
MAINTENANCE
Network maintenance covers a broad range of services, from simple hardware repair when a device fails to full-scale testing and performance analysis to identify problems before they escalate. SIMOCO Wireless Solutions offers fully tailored maintenance solutions including first, second and third line. These are delivered as managed services contracts, bespoke to the precise needs of each customer and offering all organisations the precise level of support and advice they need.
A PROACTIVE APPROACH
We have a team of highly experienced engineers in place for both routine and more complex maintenance operations – whatever is required to keep your unique communications network running smoothly. Organisations can pick and choose elements of the three levels of maintenance programmes to build a bespoke package of support, tailored to their environments, busy times of year and internal staffing demands.
An effective network maintenance strategy can dramatically extend the life of your unified communications network and the reliability, security and efficiency of your day-to-day operations. Embedding an effective routine maintenance process into your workflows can prevent small issues from becoming larger ones, and can identify problems before they have a negative impact on communications.
ANYTIME, ANYWHERE
Unusual and restrictive environments are no barrier to our engineers delivering a robust and reliable network maintenance service. We are proud to maintain the radio rebroadcast and PA systems in various road tunnels, helping to keep a steady flow of traffic running through some of the world’s busiest cities. Here, a typical network maintenance programmes involves visiting every service building in the tunnels once weekly to carry out a weekly check for alarms and other alerts. Problems can therefore be fixed extremely early.
Similarly, we provide resilient radio communications on railways and tramways, supporting millions of journeys a year and keeping systems moving 365 days a year. These services cover preventative maintenance and reactive callout for radio systems, and the supplementation of in-house second line support teams by attending site with them to carry out PM checks at their radio sites for a couple of weeks each year.
We deliver maintenance programmes in high-pressure, high-security environments such as airports, where effective communications can be a matter of life and death and 24/7 support is required.
FIRST LINE MAINTENANCE
First line maintenance is typically defined as help desk/technical support. Our 24/7 Network Operations Centre (NOC) is staffed by highly qualified and exceptionally experienced SIMOCO Wireless Solutions engineers, providing a non-stop service with expert knowledge of our customer base, locations and leased equipment.
SECOND LINE MAINTENANCE
Second line maintenance is carried out on site. Teams of SIMOCO maintenance engineers make reactive callouts when needed and also carry out proactive routine visits to check equipment – these are known as Preventative Maintenance Inspection (PMI) services.
THIRD LINE MAINTENANCE
Third line maintenance relates to when second line support staff are unable to resolve a problem and require additional assistance from higher level specialists, such as our R&D team or network architects.
